Winter Wonderland LO

Today is the last day of November and I just cannot believe that another year is nearly over!  This November has been pretty crazy for Anchorage!!  Normally it is one of the snowiest months of the year and it's only snowed two or three times!!  Here, when it's fall/winter if there's no snow it is MUCH colder!  The cloud cover actually creates a kind of insulation and not only makes our dark winter days seem brighter but also brings the temperatures further away from zero!!  In fact today at 4pm I was driving around and it was only 2 degrees!!  2 degrees!!!!  I mean are you kidding me?!  Even for us Alaskan's this kind of weather is saved for January!  I'm just praying for snow and that this means winter will be short this year with a nice long non-rainy summer!!

So anyways, all of the fun winter-y and Christmas-y kits are coming out now and I'm super excited (although, I'd be more excited if we had more snow here)!  Here's a new kit from Blue Heart Scraps called Snowball Fight, and as soon as we get a bit more snow and some warmer temperatures, I just may have to teach my 20 month old son how to partake in one of these fights!!

Fall LO

Here in Alaska fall seems to be very short!  One day the leaves are green and the next day they are brown and falling off the trees!  Once this happens it becomes cold quite quickly!  While this kit isn't fall themed I love how the cool hues reflect the fall that we have here!  I grunged it up a bit by adding the overlays around the edges of the background paper.  I also desaturated the pictures to give the look of selective coloring.

Amazing LO

I'll say it again, I am really liking the colors from this months GingerScraps buffet!  Here's another layout using the kits from Inspired Designs.  I was able to go to our church's Women's Retreat and decided that the blues and yellows could really highlight some of my scenic pictures.  I also used the freebie word art from this months Word Art Challenge at GingerScraps!

Rain Down On Me LO

I just love this months buffet at GingerScraps!!  The colors are pretty sweet and I can see them working well with a lot of my pictures of my little guy!  I ended up desaturating this picture of my little guy in his new rain coat and I really like how it adds to a grunge feel on the page!

My Top 5

Here is a fun layout that was created for the "Mix It Up" challenge at GingerScraps.  I was challenged to do a layout documenting my top 5 life moments/events/choices.  I love the unique look of this page and the mix of colors!

Play, Learn, & Grow LO

I absolutely love the new kit by Blue Heart Scraps!!  It's all about school and learning AND seeing that I used to be an elementary school teacher and have a little guy, I will totally be using this kit often!  In fact, if I was still teaching, I probably would have printed out things like the glue bottle, crayon, scissors, etc. to put on the board and use as prompts for the students to know what to do next.

So here's my page and I just love the way it turned out!!

Away We Go LOs

Ugh!  I totally don't know how I missed these layouts!!  These were done at the beginning of the month; but I guess, better late than never!!

The GingerScraps July Buffet was all about travel "Away We Go" and I just knew what pictures I wanted to use!!  Since my DS and I just went on a little 2 week trip to visit family in May I knew that I just had to scrap the pictures that I took of him in the airport!!  In those two weeks my 15 month old went from never even being near an airport to flying on a airplane 4 times!!  He was my little trooper and did amazingly well (totally answered prayers)!!

Sandbox Fun LO

Here's a fun page I created using a variety of different kits by Blue Heart Scraps.  I love how easily I was able to mix and match several of her kits and made them work on one layout!
