Another beautiful kit from ViolaMoni that is grungy enough to work perfectly with my little boy's photos!! The browns in this kit were perfect for these pictures of him playing in the dirt!  I just love how the curve on the photo mask and the edge of the circle frames almost give the outline of a heart on the page - totally not intended but I noticed it when I was done and couldn't help but think it was fitting...this little guy is my heart!

Sunny Day LO

Alaska's weather is so unpredictable!  When it is sunny and warm outside, you pretty much need to chuck all  your plans out the window and just go outside and enjoy the sun!!  This is our 4th year living here in Anchorage and I'm pretty sad to say that the first year we were here was the best summer we've had and at the time (coming from southern California) didn't really appreciate it!  Now that we've endured less than desirable summers, I try not to take them for granted - especially now that my little guy is 2 and can really start to have some fun outside!

Destroy The Instructions LO

The title of this LO pretty much captures the moment!  There are no instructions needed when a 2 year old paints!!  Mommy's lucky if SHE's not covered head to toe in paint by the time the experience is over!  But he loves it, so what can I say?

Me LO

Since I've had a child, I pretty much have no photos of myself and sadly the ones I do have are of me looking somewhat haggard - lol!  I guess having a two year old will do that to a stay at home mom!  Amazingly, I had a recent (year ago) photo that was taken by a family friend.  Other than that I'm pretty much going back quite a few years - so sad!  There's a challenge at GS where you have to use FIVE photos of yourself - I doubt I'll be accomplishing that task!  Anyways, here is a lovely kit that is a part of a grab bag by ViolaMoni.  I love her art journaling style kits, now if only I could master that amazing style of scrap.  The grunged up papers are a favorite of mine!

Cupcake LO

As some may know, I had a miscarriage about a month ago and actually found out the day before my son's 2nd birthday.  I had an inkling that this was the case several days before hand and our small birthday plans for our little boy had already been canceled.  How sad for my little guy!!  With everything that had been going on around the home, his birthday turned into a VERY long celebration!!  He didn't get a birthday cake with candles (which makes me sad but he won't remember so I shouldn't feel too bad) but I made sure he had a special sweet treat - a red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting!  This was a SUPER special treat for our little one because he is not supposed to have wheat and almost never has candy or goodies like this!!  It was so funny because as he finished it off you could see that the sweetness was just a bit too much for him!

Waiting For Spring LO

It's May here in Anchorage, Alaska and yes there is still snow!!  We are still waiting for Spring!  Thankfully, the sun is nice and warm and most days we can go outside with just a long sleeve shirt or a sweatshirt and be alright until the freezing wind picks up!

Alaska Style LO

We are still waiting for spring here in Anchorage!  Desperately wanting summer to arrive we Alaskan's will be seen (not me - I'm not this Alaskan yet) walking about in flip flops and tank tops with snow still on the ground on a sunny 30 degree day!  But you will find my family out and about with a long sleeve or sweater on sunny 40 degree days - we just have to!  My son is a true Alaskan, and just loved playing outside in the puddles AND was very happy to not have to wear his bulky winter jacket.   But still, come on snow go away - it's May for crying out loud!
