Chilly Days LO

Here in Anchorage, Alaska there is no mistaking the fact that it is winter.  We have already gotten more than 3 feet of snow and have had temperatures as low as -20 (which is NOT a regular event in this area of Alaska)!!  We joke that this is one of the few places that you can go outside in 10-15 degree weather an comment on how warm it feels that day!!  In spite of these chilly days, I know that I am not alone in being in awe of the beauty of this time of year.  Everything is blanketed in pristine white mounds of snow and the sky appears to be extra blue and everything shimmers as if it's been doused with heavy sprinklings of glitter!  As much as I dreaded the end of summer here in Anchorage, once the snow finally arrived and couldn't help but be excited over the amazing changes in the landscape.  This is truly a wondrous place to live!

The picture in this LO was taken from my sliding glass door.  Our neighbors love birds and have several bird feeders around their yard.  I get to look out of this window and see Blue Jays, pigeons (lol), squirrels, and other random birds go in and out of this bird neat and exciting to see nature so alive even in such cold!
