Camera Shy LO
There was a super fun Speed Scrap at GingerScraps yesterday and I am SO happy I was able to make it! Each person who participated had to come up with one step in the speed scrap. This was the first time I had done a SS like this and it was pretty neat! This is what I came up with at the end (I'm actually getting faster at speed scraps lol)!

Everyday LO
Wow! Can you believe that it's already 2012?? I don't know about you, but 2011 went by so quickly! As most scrappers or photographers know when the new year arrives the new Project 52/365 do as well! I am so far behind on my P365 for last year but I will finish it! But if you plan on doing one of these projects (I'm planning on doing one this year too) then you will want to check out Gingerscraps. Inspired Designs is planning on doing a collection for the P365 projects and here's a look at her first kit.

December 2010
This was our third Christmas together and our second one here in Anchorage, Alaska. This year was pretty special for us because baby Jesse would be arriving in a few short months. This Christmas was also unique in that I not only made Christmas cards but actually mailed them out... seriously a first!

Chilly Days LO
Here in Anchorage, Alaska there is no mistaking the fact that it is winter. We have already gotten more than 3 feet of snow and have had temperatures as low as -20 (which is NOT a regular event in this area of Alaska)!! We joke that this is one of the few places that you can go outside in 10-15 degree weather an comment on how warm it feels that day!! In spite of these chilly days, I know that I am not alone in being in awe of the beauty of this time of year. Everything is blanketed in pristine white mounds of snow and the sky appears to be extra blue and everything shimmers as if it's been doused with heavy sprinklings of glitter! As much as I dreaded the end of summer here in Anchorage, once the snow finally arrived and couldn't help but be excited over the amazing changes in the landscape. This is truly a wondrous place to live!
The picture in this LO was taken from my sliding glass door. Our neighbors love birds and have several bird feeders around their yard. I get to look out of this window and see Blue Jays, pigeons (lol), squirrels, and other random birds go in and out of this bird feeder...so neat and exciting to see nature so alive even in such cold!

I don't know about you, but this has been such an eventful weekend!! I haven't completed as many LOs as I had hoped to, but I sure have been having fun playing games and entering contests around the different forums!! One LO that I did happen to finish is so different from most of my layouts and I happen to really like it!

Grandparents LO
Lisa Sisneros has come out with several new kits!! WooHoo! One of which is called Grateful Heart and can be found at Digi Chicks - where she's guesting!!! This is such a beautiful kit and is part of her Make It Meaningful collection.
I used this kit to make a LO of my grandparents. They started dating when they were in high school and have a lot of really cute pictures of them together!

Journaling reads:
After you being deployed for nearly 15 months, getting engaged over the phone, planning a wedding while apart, you were finally able to take a 3 day weekend. Thankfully, you were able to catch a flight and spend that time with me!! Everyone was pressuring me about registering for our wedding and I didn't want to do that without you! It was so amazing to get to spend some quality time with you after so long!! I couldn't help but count the days until you would be out of the army and home with me for good! "No matter how far you are, no matter how long it takes you, through distance and time, I'll be waiting."

Man those lyrics ring so true! While I was never an Army wife I was close enough. Now that we are married and we have a son, I cannot even imagine my husband going on 12-15 month deployments. While he was away, most of our correspondence had to be done by letter because the area he was in was so remote and dangerous they did not have internet for most of the tour and phone access was usually limited for those who were married! :(

{Thank}ful LO and Trick or Treat LO
It is October 23rd and Halloween is just around the corner! Only thing is that my family doesn't really celebrate this holiday. Normally, I just buy up a bunch of the holiday candy when it's on sale and gorge myself on it for a couple months but that's about the extent of my celebration!
With that said, my little sister does do the Halloween thing and can you blame her...she's a little kid! What little kid doesn't want to not only dress up, BUT ALSO have people give her candy too!! I mean it's a total win win situation!! There were a few years where I was able to go visit her around Halloween time and I had the chance to go door to door with her and take part in her excitement and fun. Those were very special visits for me and I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to see her have so much fun!
So onto my layouts...Scrappamondo by Monica has a new Halloween kit that's just been released. I was able to do one layout for myself that is not Halloween themed at all and one layout for my sister in honor of our trick or treat times together! I love the fact that both layouts came from the same kit and yet they look SO different!!
